Jemena technical manual delivering "real-time" safety virtues.
For IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Jemena has recently deployed an electronic publishing module that allows Technical Manuals that once took several months to compile, to now be published in less than 5 minutes using drawBRIDGE. This makes a world of difference in this safety conscious industry.
The Jemena “Design and Construction Manual” is a key document supplied to both staff and contractors as it details Jemena Asset Servicing requirements. The manual is made up of roughly 850+ individual drawings and technical notes. Previous methods used to publish the manual not only engaged several workers but also took several months to compile, and once published, these manuals quickly become out-of-date which represented a real safety risk to the business. The new drawBRIDGE enhancement means it now takes Jemena only 5 minutes to re-publish this entire manual, which includes any new drawings and excludes those drawings that are cancelled or otherwise changed. This drawBRIDGE enhancement represents a substantial efficiency gain, cost saving and risk reduction outcome. The significant resourcing effort previously allocated to assemble this manual can now be spent on core tasks.
Some of the features of the new publishing module include the ability to publish a “Part” or “Full” manual with the creation of the Table of Content (TOC) as a clickable navigation item. This includes the appropriate categorisation of the drawings under sub-headings and the inclusion of a standard legal disclosure message with customised Jemena front and back coversheets. In terms of gaining ISO accreditation or similar, this feature ensures all manuals are current which makes accreditation or compliance undemanding compared with paper based methods.
Each drawing included in the manual features an embedded “Document Token”. This “Document Token” allows internal staff to open an “on-line” version of the drawing with one click and self-check for updates. (Knowledge Mobilisation at its very best!!!)
DrawBRIDGE Virtual PDF pages and hardcopy output are identifiable to the individual page level. All pages are marked with IDs allowing for validation at any stage, so accidental page misfiling with other manuals or using out-dated publications is greatly reduced or even eliminated.
About drawBRIDGE technology
DrawBRIDGE is technically distinct from other systems. The design of drawBRIDGE creates a dynamic "virtual" PDF document, which delivers benefits like Page Level Security, real-time page markings with appropriate “ID’s” or “Alert Warnings”, or the production of PDF documentation suitable for different audience types in real-time (e.g. public vs internal).
This design makes “drawBRIDGE PDF” files very different from the static versions that people may be familiar with.
